Diaphorodoris papillata Portmann & Sandmeier, 1960
Diaphorodoris papillata is a small to medium sized colourful species of onchidorid. It was found on a species of the red alga Polysiphonia, with several bryozoa attached at the base. The bright crimson colour of the papillae are striking and identification of this species in the field is easy.

Rhinophores: White in colour, widely lamellate.
Cerata: Absent.
Gills: Unipinnate, white in colour and simple.
Body: Flattish, dorid like, white in colour with a yellow marginal band. Several large pointed tubercules are present coloured a bright crimson.
Foot: White in colour without appendages.

Size range: 7.5 - 9mm. Rare.

Specific characteristics: This species is easily identified in the field, the crimson papillae are very ditinctive.
