Medium to small sized cephalaspidean, with a whitish base colour mottled with small brown spots. Two dark brown marks were seen in two specimens collected on different dates. Body is generally elongated to oval. This species is generally very sensitive to light and actively searches for darker areas.

Size range: 9-16mm. Rare.

Specific characteristics: Many similar species and identification is based on size, colour and shell (internal) ornamentation which generally requires dissection.
